VISION THERAPY

About 80% of information taken into the body goes through the visual system. If the eyes are not working efficiently they will not take in information efficiently.

What is Vision?
There are two aspects to vision.

  1. Physical - the eyes must be physically capable of seeing clearly and comfortably for as long as they need to.
  2. Interpretive / Perceptual - the brain must be able to interpret and understand what is seen so that it makes sense.

What is Vision Therapy?
Vision Therapy or VT is that part of optometric care devoted to developing, improving and enhancing people's visual performance. Behavioural optometrists have developed and used Vision Therapy to ...

  1. Prevent vision and eye problems from developing.
  2. Develop the visual skills needed to achieve more effectively at school, work or play.
  3. Enhance functioning on tasks demanding sustained visual effort.
  4. Compensate for vision and eye problems which have already developed.

Through Vision Therapy, people are able to develop more efficient visual performance.
